Rick Williams
Rick studied art in the early 1990s at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C., and continued for many years under the tutelage of Maureen Berkowitz in D.C. and Walt Bartman of the Yellow Barn Studio in Glen Echo, Maryland. Drawing from his varied life experiences from Vietnam and careers in medicine and law, he has continuously worked, evolved and exhibited his paintings, photos, films and installations at numerous galleries and art exhibitions, including International Visions, Foundry and MOCA Galleries in Washington, D.C., the Yellow Barn Gallery in Glen Echo, Md.; the Isis Gallery in Seattle, Washington; and Casa de Arte in Buffalo, New York.
One of his Washington’s most respected art critics, Bill Dunlop of WETA’s “Around the Town”, praised one of Rick’s solo exhibits, “The Cone Sisters and Their Friends”. His Casa de Arte exhibit “Ravages of Addiction” in August 2012 received a very positive review by Jack Foran in Artvoice. Rick was the curator of the exhibit and it included his installations and films, among other things. See http://artvoice.com/issues/v11n34/art_scene/kicks. His exhibit in the summer of 2015 at Casa de Arte was positively reviewed by the art critics from Buffalo's only major daily newspaper and its art newspaper.
