My art has evolved from painting to film to installations and mixed media. I try and remain open and teachable but I also continue to draw from my life experiences: a medical corpsman for 13 months in a mobile army surgical hospital (MASH) in Vietnam; a physician assistant (PA) employed by New York City Prison Health services (Manhattan house of Detention or “Tombs” and Rykers Island), an alcohol and drug detoxification facility in Hartford Connecticut, and in a New Orleans VA hospital psychiatric ward); as a lawyer and judge with the Board of Veterans Appeals in Washington, D.C., adjudicating a wide range of appeals involving physical and mental disorders; and 25 years of being an artist. I have lived in many places and will continue to move about for as long as I can. Wherever I am, there is an endless supply of emotional material from within.
